Classroom Timer

Using timers in class

A visible countdown helps students manage their own time and makes transitions smoother. Give a time that is a little shorter than you think, add a minute if most students are close, and use the last minute as a "finish your sentence" warning.

Want a timer next to your instructions? Use the Class Screen. For younger students, the visual timer shows time as a shrinking colored ring.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running in another tab?

Yes. It works out the time left from the clock, so it stays accurate even if the tab is in the background. Keep the page open to hear the chime.

Can I change the alarm sound?

The timer plays a gentle three-note chime. Use the speaker button to mute it if you only want the visual signal.

Does it remember my last time?

Yes. The last time you set is saved in this browser and comes back next time.
